Script Draft 1

Jacob sent us both the first draft of the script.

I really liked the first draft of the script. i had a few ideas which i put forward at the first meeting which were mainly about the transitions and style of the piece. while reading i had a vision of similar transitions as used in Edgar Wrights 'Hot Fuzz' and 'Shaun of the dead' which instead of simply cutting or fading it has a quick snappy montage which shows action and then leads into the next scene, here is an example:

i also think that the heart monitor sound heard at the beginning should be heard through out as a recurring theme to represent the monotonous rhythm of his life.

Major Project

For my major project this year i am looking to be an editor.

I have attached myself to a group with Jacob Waterall and Peter Farley.

The idea we are developing is one that Jacob wrote last year during our writing for film class. It is about a man who works as an ambulance driver/ paramedic, and he starts to become unsatisfied with how impersonal his job has become. He wants more gratitude from the patients he treats before he sends them off to the doctor.
Despite the warnings he gets from his superiors to mind his business, he goes above and beyond to make sure he gets a "Thank you" but he meets only disappointment.

I am really exited about this project and i have a lot of ideas already after reading the first draft of the script that i feel i can bring to the group.
